A North Carolina native, Stacey earned her Bachelor’s degree in Classical Studies from Wake Forest University in 2013. After graduation Stacey moved to the Washington, D.C. area and worked for an event management software company. Stacey returned to Wake Forest in 2015 and earned her Master’s degree in Secondary Social Studies Education in 2016. During her Master’s program at Wake Forest, Stacey studied the effects of social studies simulations on student engagement in the secondary classroom.
After teaching middle school and high school in North Carolina, Stacey wanted to explore ways to make a broader impact. Stacey worked as a curriculum designer at IXL Learning and created middle school social studies content. She also created English language arts content and lesson plans for elementary and middle school students for Newsela and BookNook.
Stacey joined Centervention in August 2018. Outside of Centervention, you can find Stacey exploring new restaurants and traveling with her husband, cheering on the Demon Deacons, watching Netflix with her cats, or reading exciting spy novels.
